Being Phrench in Philadelphia

I went on a French field trip today. We couldn't take pictures in the museum, but I snapped some quick ones on my phone.

Our meal at the fancy Brasserie Perrier was amazing. The food was amazing, and I had a great time. Sure, the waiters made me pretty jumpy because they kept popping up when I least expected it (Like the butler from Mr. Deeds!) but the service was great. I had crème brûlée for the first time in my life, and it was just...FABULASTIC! Sooo good. Hella good.

I know it's not the most picturesque city, but I really love Philadelphia. It's full of meaningful American history. I have family that live there as well, so I always enjoy a nice visit to the city. I've heard a rumor (that goes for all cities) that if you take pictures of the buildings, or look up at them, people know you're a tourist (or not from town) and take that advantage to pick your pockets, haha. Let's hope they didn't take my wallet when I took these!

We went to the Renoir exhibit after lunch, and enjoyed the amazing artwork of Pierre-Auguste Renoir. His artwork is sheerly stunning. Of course, I got a little bit of a headache from all the blotchy-ness and overall blurry-ness of his art, but it was worth it. We couldn't take pictures in the exhibit, but you could always be-bop over to Wikipedia (here's a link) and look at some of his stuff, they may even provide a link to all his work for you. I got myself an overpriced, lenticular postcard (AKA a 3-D postcard) of the wildflowers and men at the fence...for some reason, I can't seem to remember the title at the moment, but I'll scan it and show you later. I also got two pencils and the saleslady gave me some stickers when I asked nicely. =)

Those were $64 aprons in the shop. They were...uh, pitiful.

The Museum and Rocky's statue.

The Rocky stairs! Haha. I can hear the music now...haha.

Rainy Philadelphian 'burbs.

Hopefully I'll visit again soon. =)

Kick some serious ass, and don't forget to take names

Holy shiza. I can't believe we did that. I won't keep you in suspense...but today...(Dramatic pause)...I quit fastpitch softball. I'll start at the beginning. Yesterday we had our first official slowpitch game (aka for my father's team). I went, because honestly--how can you not go to your own father's game? Not to mention, the fastpitch game was a make-up that we didn't know about until last week. So we--my older sister Devyn, a friend of mine named Ashley--went to our slowpitch game. After all, my dad needed us and we would've had to forfeit if we didn't have enough girls to play. So we sort of ditched the fastpitch game. But it was NBD, seriously. Ashley NEVER plays in a fastpitch game. She sits the bench EVERY game, yet shows up for every practice, all the time. So naturally she's going to go to the game where she gets a chance to play, and not to mention she's good at it. My sister, on the other hand, is a senior. She's paid her dues. S...

Just another Monday

I took some pictures today, figuring I knew that I wouldn't feel up to posting something gigantic. And I'm not. We had another softball game this afternoon, and even though I played for about...3½ minutes, I'm still wiped from having to spend the entire game on my feet (and add that up to my day and school, and it's cause for exhaustion). My 3½ minutes in the spotlight was when my coach decided that we were losing bad enough (We lost 17-10 or something like that) that it wouldn't do any harm to put the Junior Varsity Princess (aka moi, if you're that thick) into the game. The batter's box, to be precise. I guess I wasn't good enough to defend the field. :( Whatever. So, I must've been a lot more nervous than I thought I was, because everyone kept telling me to relax. I didn't feel nervous, but when I struck out (I went down swingin', ya bastards!) and returned to the dugout, I realized that my hands were shaking. Well, here are the pictures.....

Go on and lose it

"Everybody makes mistakes/Everybody has those days..." -Hannah Montana Yeah Miss Montana? Well, I doubt you've had the day I've had. Enter: Wake up at 6:00 in the morning on a Saturday. Get in the shower, dress, and eat breakfast. Wonder why I'm up so early? I have a Youth and Government shindig. I get ready to go, and then wake my dad up at 7:30 and tell him we should go soon. I have to be there by 9 am, and it's about a half-hour away. That translates to an hour or so with me driving (still on my permit, so Dad has to come) and the fact that we don't exactly know where the Anita Tuvin Schlecter building is. I drove fine on the way there, no one died. =) We get there, and we were kind of lost--but that wasn't that big of deal. We were still early and we found the place all right. I also found my friend from Y&G who had told me what was going on today. We stood outside the ATS building...and it was locked. There wasn't a soul in sight. Me: ...
