Water offa duck...!

Nowhere to go but up, man...honestly. I dunno what it is, but my luck's starting to turn around. I mean, I understand my math and chemistry homework, I'm sleeping better and not falling asleep in class, I'm reading on a regular basis again, and...I dunno. Everything just...I won't say perfect, because it's far from. Not to mention, I don't want to jinx it just in case it could get better. Funny how I feel so good, even though my day started off pretty shitty. I woke up at 5:30 but turned off my alarm. So I slept until my sister came home from her boyfriend's to take me to school at 7:08. She honked twice, and I leapt outta bed. I went to the window, freaking out. I was still in my Eeyore pajama bottoms and my "Mom Went To Hawaii And All She Brought Me Back Was This Stupid T-Shirt" shirt with the dolphins the shape of a heart. So yeah, I was screwed. My hair was a wreck, I seriously needed a shower, and I had nothing to wear. So my sister left witho...

It's only 2nd period...!!

Okay, so this is a bit unnerving--I'm sitting here in Computer Apps II. Bored as hell. And what song comes on the radio? "Two Out of Three Ain't Bad" by Meatloaf. Yeah, stifling laughter in a quiet class tends to be a little DIFFICULT! More later, after softball practice. ( I'm resisting the urge to laugh because that song is one of my dad's favorites, to the point where he made me put it on my mp3 player so we could listen to it in his truck whenever he wanted to. XP )

¿Que pasa contigo, mi hermano?

Man, I've really been battling through my Chemistry and Algebra 2 work lately. And the good thing? I'm getting more confident about my work. Yay. I'm happy. Nah, happy's a yuppie word. I dunno. I'm feeling good. Not as lost as I was. It's all thanks to some awesome friends and really smart YAG kids that will help with anything! Thanks again, guys. We had a softball game today. And although it'd be appropriate to give details about the game, I don't see why I should. I DIDN'T PLAY. I hate being on JV. I'm slightly put out that I can access my blogger account on the school server, but I can't see my own blog or several others because they've been blocked. But I can view Steph's, so you should go and check hers out. Topic of discussion today, kids? Well, I figured we'd talk about smoking, since a bill against smoking in public places came up tonight at YAG. I can't stand it. I don't care how old you are, how long you've b...

The 12-year war: we just can't get along

I used to do it when I was younger, as well. But then, it was accepted behavior. Now it's just...frustrating. What I'm talking about it crying. Yeah, I'll admit, I still do it on a regular basis. What's the worst part about it is that there isn't always an easy solution to the tears anymore. Kiss the boo-boo, it's all better. Punish the other person for hitting you, revenge is served. Now it's a whole lot more complicated. Take today for instance. I was sitting on the couch in the living room talking with my dad. The whole conversation, I knew the couch cushion felt lumpier than usual, which is saying something for my mother's couch. It's a rarely sat on couch, so it shouldn't be lumpy. I reached under the couch cushion, and what do I lay my hand on? Well, it's not nasty if that's what you're wondering. It just so happened to be my teal-green American Eagle Graphic T-Shirt. And I didn't put it there. Let me tell you something abou...

Violence, shoes, and a word from La Reina

Violence surrounds us! Yeah, that's right...it's Monday night again, and you all know what that means-- The Black Donnellys. I'm watching it as we speak. And last night...I watched Kill Bill Vol. 1 AND 2 . It's everywhere these days. Parents bitch about overexposure to their kids, YAs (Young Adults...I will be referring to them regularly) laugh about it and discuss it amongst friends the next day, and guys just eat it up--what kind of self-respecting dude doesn't love violence? But I'm getting ahead of myself here. I am not a guy, nor do I know any well enough (besides Dad). Is it a bit weird to be a girl that is totally in love with this kind of TV/Movie crap? Sure, I'm a sap for those romantic comedies, where boy gets girl, boy loses girl, boy wins girl over, but too many of them can be fatal (just like that recalled pet food that my uncle now calls Final Feast. ) I even asked my dad the other day if he would teach me how to throw a decent punch (without...
