What not to wear

*Deep Breath* Okay. I have but a milisecond of down time. Right now I'm in my 4th period Study Hall. My last minute of regular...heart...beating-ness (Wow, I am soooo articulate!) before I'm thrown into the rest of the school day (Vocab quiz, Algebra 2 Test) and then catapulted into a frenzy of packing, dictaphone-buying, picking up and dropping off. I figured I'd spend the last twenty minutes of Study Hall trying to explain some of my outfits that I sort of picked out. One of my outfits is this pink cashmere sweater thrown over a striped blouse with pink, brown, black, and grey in it. I'm wearing that with black dress pants and my beaten, suede, black Old Navy flats. Another one is this brown, orange, and black striped half-shirt over top of a tan tank top, with brown gauchos. I don't know about shoes yet, probably the all-purpose and very comfortable black flip flops. (YAAAY OLD NAVY!!) One that is sort of half-put together is these black and grey pinstriped dres...

Don't touch, I may snap

The clock's ticking down... YAG (Youth and Government) Model is officially starting tomorrow night. I leave for 4 days on Thursday morning. I'll be honest. I'm so nervous right now. This is my first year for everything and I don't even have any of my outfits picked out yet! I have to be completely packed by tomorrow night!!! My dad's taking me to get a dictaphone (all the hardcore reporters have 'em!!) tomorrow after school. Then I have to leave for the capitol before 6. AaaaahhhHHH! I'm shuddering just thinking about it. (Or is that just a draft?) Thanks for your comments--sorry I moved. I just felt it was a bit necessary... again . And the comments regarding clothes? Even more helpful. I think I just need to relax a bit--"confidence is the best fashion accessory," right? About the homicidal ex-uncle...uhhh, well, I'd prefer not to talk about it. It's a whole "Desperate Housewives" sort of situation, which my family is getting d...

Pre-week babblings

I can't sleep. Yes, I know it is remotely early for my bed time, but the wind is keeping me up. We've been experiencing a pretty nasty Nor'easter this weekend, and it hasn't failed in keeping me chilled to the bone. I know for a fact that I am not the only one around here asking: WHERE THE HELL IS SPRING? I found out that sister #2 has a myspace. She's my little sister. So what else can big sista do? Delete it. CALM DOWN--I haven't done it yet. But I'm seriously considering it. She's only 11½ years old, for God's sake! This weekend I have perfected the art of crying on a dime. When my dad told me I sucked at softball, wrestling on the living room floor, when my sister said the dress my mother bought me looked as if Mrs. Doubtfire wore it--yeah, I'm becoming a master. No, I'm not a baby. But it gets people apologizing--and pretty damn fast. :) I'm still battling through the huge novel known as My Sister's Keeper . Yeah, I know that it...

Sii? Wii play wii!/Family time

Today, my sister brought over the children she was babysitting. The one (at 4 years old--"I will be 5 on APRIL 23rd!!") declared me her BEST FRIEND FOREVER. Oh yeah, you're mad. Just kidding. I normally can't stand kids. I just didn't feel like making anyone cry today. (And believe me--it's happened before.) After she left, my dad toted all of us--Sister's Boyfriend, Sister 1, Sister 2, Sister 3, Cousin, Sister 3's friend--in the back of his pick-em-up truck, and we headed over to the softball field for some practice--AS IF my arm couldn't get any SORE-R! But it really wasn't all that bad. We had some nice family time, hit a few softballs, got some more practice in--I'm telling you, we eat, drink, sleep softball. It's our family thing. Then, we had Chinese for dinner, and my aunt and her boyfriend came over. More nice family time, while trying not to think of my aunt's homicidal ex-husband...ANYWHOooOOoo...! Our slogan for tonight? ...
