Pre-week babblings

I can't sleep. Yes, I know it is remotely early for my bed time, but the wind is keeping me up. We've been experiencing a pretty nasty Nor'easter this weekend, and it hasn't failed in keeping me chilled to the bone. I know for a fact that I am not the only one around here asking: WHERE THE HELL IS SPRING?

I found out that sister #2 has a myspace. She's my little sister. So what else can big sista do? Delete it. CALM DOWN--I haven't done it yet. But I'm seriously considering it. She's only 11½ years old, for God's sake!

This weekend I have perfected the art of crying on a dime. When my dad told me I sucked at softball, wrestling on the living room floor, when my sister said the dress my mother bought me looked as if Mrs. Doubtfire wore it--yeah, I'm becoming a master. No, I'm not a baby. But it gets people apologizing--and pretty damn fast. :)

I'm still battling through the huge novel known as My Sister's Keeper. Yeah, I know that it's been under the "Checked Out" section for a while now, but I've been damn busy so--as my capricious, smallest sister says--BACK OFF!!

If you get a chance, check out the video under my "Stuck In My Head" section. I normally put auto-play mp3s there, but I couldn't find one that plays this Queensryche song. Yes, I copy and pasted that--I have no idea how to spell 'Queensryche'. If anyone knows what that word means, I would sincerely like to know. But, back to the song--I've had it stuck in my head for two weeks now since it was played on Supernatural. That episode--'Heart'--had me crying. Awesome song, even if it is an MTV video from before I was born. :)

Well, I'm out, out to face the flood (overstatement) raging outside my door, the dreary overcast weather that's going to linger all week, school (a drag, as usual), and did I mention this is Model week for YAG? Yeah, I just so happened to forget. BAH!
I still have to get some more dress clothes. Eeek!

Adíos, amigos.

yay! i can't believe somebody actually sought my fashion advice!
and to think. two minutes ago i was slobbing around in sweats.
okay, i'm still in my fat-girl pants and sweatshirt. so what.
i don't know about you but i get really stressy about traveling and like to feel like i have some really cute reserve items in my bag that will...at the risk of sounding like a crappy seventeen cover issue...pull outfits together. for example, if you have something that's not TOO daring and avant-garde yet still kind of trendsetting while of course making you look great, for example, a fantastic pair of jeans or a great yet not too hellishly uncomfortable pair of shoes or jacket, i would pack that. and if you have babydoll dresses that can double as shirts, etc., def. bring those because they are so helpful and time-savey while still looking kind of cool.

okay, i've babbled sufficiently for now about complete randomosity. just one more thing. MYSPACE AT ELEVEN AND A HALF? crikey. i hope your sister's at least old for her age. i mean, what do you even do on myspace at eleven and a half?

oh, one more thing. shrugs might be over, but a cute little wrap or something over a casual dress, along with some nice shoes (heels, but not hooker-y) usually does the "dressy but not too dressy" trick.

Kick some serious ass, and don't forget to take names

Holy shiza. I can't believe we did that. I won't keep you in suspense...but today...(Dramatic pause)...I quit fastpitch softball. I'll start at the beginning. Yesterday we had our first official slowpitch game (aka for my father's team). I went, because honestly--how can you not go to your own father's game? Not to mention, the fastpitch game was a make-up that we didn't know about until last week. So we--my older sister Devyn, a friend of mine named Ashley--went to our slowpitch game. After all, my dad needed us and we would've had to forfeit if we didn't have enough girls to play. So we sort of ditched the fastpitch game. But it was NBD, seriously. Ashley NEVER plays in a fastpitch game. She sits the bench EVERY game, yet shows up for every practice, all the time. So naturally she's going to go to the game where she gets a chance to play, and not to mention she's good at it. My sister, on the other hand, is a senior. She's paid her dues. S...

Just another Monday

I took some pictures today, figuring I knew that I wouldn't feel up to posting something gigantic. And I'm not. We had another softball game this afternoon, and even though I played for about...3½ minutes, I'm still wiped from having to spend the entire game on my feet (and add that up to my day and school, and it's cause for exhaustion). My 3½ minutes in the spotlight was when my coach decided that we were losing bad enough (We lost 17-10 or something like that) that it wouldn't do any harm to put the Junior Varsity Princess (aka moi, if you're that thick) into the game. The batter's box, to be precise. I guess I wasn't good enough to defend the field. :( Whatever. So, I must've been a lot more nervous than I thought I was, because everyone kept telling me to relax. I didn't feel nervous, but when I struck out (I went down swingin', ya bastards!) and returned to the dugout, I realized that my hands were shaking. Well, here are the pictures.....

Go on and lose it

"Everybody makes mistakes/Everybody has those days..." -Hannah Montana Yeah Miss Montana? Well, I doubt you've had the day I've had. Enter: Wake up at 6:00 in the morning on a Saturday. Get in the shower, dress, and eat breakfast. Wonder why I'm up so early? I have a Youth and Government shindig. I get ready to go, and then wake my dad up at 7:30 and tell him we should go soon. I have to be there by 9 am, and it's about a half-hour away. That translates to an hour or so with me driving (still on my permit, so Dad has to come) and the fact that we don't exactly know where the Anita Tuvin Schlecter building is. I drove fine on the way there, no one died. =) We get there, and we were kind of lost--but that wasn't that big of deal. We were still early and we found the place all right. I also found my friend from Y&G who had told me what was going on today. We stood outside the ATS building...and it was locked. There wasn't a soul in sight. Me: ...
