I may be a bit obsessed. Hehe.

I've been home a lot lately--obviously. When you're home all the time, that involves a lot of baseball viewing. I love baseball. It's my favorite sport. Well, I'm a girl--obviously, (wow, I should be renamed Queen of Stating the Obvious--and I like guys (Jeez, this post is going SO well right now).

What I'm talking about is all those sexy baseball players. YUM. Now, don't get me wrong. It's not the only reason I watch baseball. I'm a fan of the game. I know what ERA stands for and how important it is to have runners in scoring position. It just runs in my veins. My mother knows more about baseball than ANYONE I know. She answers all the "Phillies Stump The Fans Trivia" questions during the game. I admire her love of the game, honestly.

Ahh, but speaking of my Phillies! My poor, poor Phillies.
They had a double header against the Mets today, and they got swept. (For all of you non-baseball people, it means they lost both of them.) I was mad. Stupid Mets are in first place for the NL East, and the Phillies are struggling to stay ahead of Atlanta. It's frustrating. Every year, the Phillies battle for that wild card position...and they never go to the World Series. Ever. It stinks.

But, since I've watched so much baseball today, I'm going to name my Top 5 favorite Phillies players--based on looks (yay!). Hopefully y'all can learn a little bit about baseball from me--even though these players are by no means extraordinary (aka the best in the league), they're just my favorites.

1. Cole Hamels

Nicknamed "Hollywood" Hamels by his teammates, Cole is one of the Phillies' pitchers. Lucky for me, he tends to hover in every camera angle during the games, even when he's not pitching. The thing I love most about Cole is his jawline--those shots of him on the mound are always from his good side--he has two!--and...I dunno. He's just...adorable, haha.

2. Chase Utley

I dunno what it is about Chase I love the most, honestly. But every time I look at him, it seems as if he's trying to channel Patrick Dempsey. And he's doing a really good job of it. He always has this 'thinker' look on his face, and the corners of his mouth is always on the verge of a smile. Maybe. But he's cute nonetheless.

3. Pat Burrell

Ohmygod. The stud of the group. What can I say about Pat Burrell? He's got the total package--tall, dark, and oh so handsome. He's probably got the nicest smile on the entire team, and...and...ahhhh. Just...gorgeous! (PS, he's TOTALLY sporting the 'come-hither' look right here!)

4. Jimmy Rollins

J-Roll is one of those guys that just loves the game. He always looks like he's having a great time. He makes me want to slide headfirst into home plate. (Okay, so that can be construed as a really bad innuendo, but I assure you, IT IS NOT!) He's great. Isn't he just so...cool?!? Haha, I dunno.

5. Aaron Rowand

Okay, so Aaron isn't the best looking guy on my list. But you can tell he has to have some sort of chest under that jersey. He's got the 'thinker' look as well--although his seems to be more strained. I don't know. I guess I just love Aaron Rowand because of that AMAZING catch he made last year--you remember, the one all over SportsCenter where he smashed his face into the wall? Yeah, that one. He's got some balls. Literally.
Well, that's it. Have a great weekend!

PS- Happy Independence Week! (Next week, that is.)

Um, YUMMERS!!!

I'm not a fan. I wish I were, but my gosh, that's about the most boring sport to watch next to golf! Participating, that's different.

Anywho...

Kick some serious ass, and don't forget to take names

Holy shiza. I can't believe we did that. I won't keep you in suspense...but today...(Dramatic pause)...I quit fastpitch softball. I'll start at the beginning. Yesterday we had our first official slowpitch game (aka for my father's team). I went, because honestly--how can you not go to your own father's game? Not to mention, the fastpitch game was a make-up that we didn't know about until last week. So we--my older sister Devyn, a friend of mine named Ashley--went to our slowpitch game. After all, my dad needed us and we would've had to forfeit if we didn't have enough girls to play. So we sort of ditched the fastpitch game. But it was NBD, seriously. Ashley NEVER plays in a fastpitch game. She sits the bench EVERY game, yet shows up for every practice, all the time. So naturally she's going to go to the game where she gets a chance to play, and not to mention she's good at it. My sister, on the other hand, is a senior. She's paid her dues. S...

Just another Monday

I took some pictures today, figuring I knew that I wouldn't feel up to posting something gigantic. And I'm not. We had another softball game this afternoon, and even though I played for about...3½ minutes, I'm still wiped from having to spend the entire game on my feet (and add that up to my day and school, and it's cause for exhaustion). My 3½ minutes in the spotlight was when my coach decided that we were losing bad enough (We lost 17-10 or something like that) that it wouldn't do any harm to put the Junior Varsity Princess (aka moi, if you're that thick) into the game. The batter's box, to be precise. I guess I wasn't good enough to defend the field. :( Whatever. So, I must've been a lot more nervous than I thought I was, because everyone kept telling me to relax. I didn't feel nervous, but when I struck out (I went down swingin', ya bastards!) and returned to the dugout, I realized that my hands were shaking. Well, here are the pictures.....

Go on and lose it

"Everybody makes mistakes/Everybody has those days..." -Hannah Montana Yeah Miss Montana? Well, I doubt you've had the day I've had. Enter: Wake up at 6:00 in the morning on a Saturday. Get in the shower, dress, and eat breakfast. Wonder why I'm up so early? I have a Youth and Government shindig. I get ready to go, and then wake my dad up at 7:30 and tell him we should go soon. I have to be there by 9 am, and it's about a half-hour away. That translates to an hour or so with me driving (still on my permit, so Dad has to come) and the fact that we don't exactly know where the Anita Tuvin Schlecter building is. I drove fine on the way there, no one died. =) We get there, and we were kind of lost--but that wasn't that big of deal. We were still early and we found the place all right. I also found my friend from Y&G who had told me what was going on today. We stood outside the ATS building...and it was locked. There wasn't a soul in sight. Me: ...
