Flying Solo and My Recent Purchases

Today I went driving solo for the first time. Honestly? I was terrified. Driving down the road just thinking about being in the car by myself was enough to bring tears to my eyes--although I didn't all out cry, or else my Dad my have yelled at me or something. And I cannot stand being yelled at in the car. As if I'm not stressed out enough behind the wheel as it is!

He said I didn't do too bad, which was a relief. I messed up when I was pulling out of the parking lot, so that was a bit discouraging. When we actually got to where we needed to be, I pulled into a "Do Not" Entrance. Thank God the parking lot was empty.

As payment for running this errands for my Dad, he bought me a book! (Which in my world, is a VERY good form of payment.)

And since I went shopping again on Sunday, I figured I might as well wrap up all my purchases in a blog entry of more pictures. Who doesn't love pictures?

Ahh, first we have the shoes my mother bought me the other day. I have to admit, they're starting to grow on me. I've been trying to arrange them with outfits, but I've come to the conclusion that I need a couple hot-pink shirts to match the line on the rim of the shoes. I've even matched them with these hot-pink pants I've never worn...hmmm...

Why do my clothes always look so massive? Maybe I'm massive. These shorts actually look cuter when worn. I couldn't believe they were Kids' clothes. They're a size 14½ (Yes, ½!)!! But they were in the Kids' section!!!

My mother hunted around for a pair of these in my size--she practically peed herself when she saw that they were only $4.97! Devyn got a pair of them too--I'm saving mine for school.

All right, let me put it out there--I think this buy was a bit of a mistake. I mean, it looks cute...sort of. It also makes me look like I'm 5. Or pregnant. I don't know. I'm still making up my mind about it. Feel free to contribute some constructive criticism.

I bought this shirt a while ago, but I'm finally feeling up to wearing it. Blue seems to be my theme lately, hehe. I tried to match it with the shoes previously mentioned, but it doesn't work. There was a pink one when I bought this a couple months ago, but I liked the blue one better. *Frustrated* The pink one would have been PERFECT!

This shirt was a bit of a splurge--but I couldn't resist. I thought it was on the bargain rack, but it ended up costing $20, which is not cool. But isn't it ADORABLE? My Dad was once in the Army, after all.

These are the books I've bought over the last couple weeks. I've already finished the top two and the one on the bottom left. They were all really good. The one on bottom right was bought today by my Dad. In case you can't decipher the titles--or what I'd just said (Clockwise from top left):
  • 13 Little Blue Envelopes by Maureen Johnson (Done)
  • The Off Season by Catherine Gilbert Murdock (Done)
  • It's Kind of A Funny Story by Ned Vizzini (Bought today)
  • The Nature of Jade by Deb Caletti (Done)

And that's it. Good night everyone!

PS- This entire post was a SON OF A BITCH to format, so I ended up posting links.

LOVE the shoes! And just FYI, when I started driving solo, as in with just me, myself and I, I found it so exhausting from the stress I was sleeeeeeeepy all the time for the first few weeks! I mean, it didn't feel stressful at the time, but I guess it was.

Kick some serious ass, and don't forget to take names

Holy shiza. I can't believe we did that. I won't keep you in suspense...but today...(Dramatic pause)...I quit fastpitch softball. I'll start at the beginning. Yesterday we had our first official slowpitch game (aka for my father's team). I went, because honestly--how can you not go to your own father's game? Not to mention, the fastpitch game was a make-up that we didn't know about until last week. So we--my older sister Devyn, a friend of mine named Ashley--went to our slowpitch game. After all, my dad needed us and we would've had to forfeit if we didn't have enough girls to play. So we sort of ditched the fastpitch game. But it was NBD, seriously. Ashley NEVER plays in a fastpitch game. She sits the bench EVERY game, yet shows up for every practice, all the time. So naturally she's going to go to the game where she gets a chance to play, and not to mention she's good at it. My sister, on the other hand, is a senior. She's paid her dues. S...

Just another Monday

I took some pictures today, figuring I knew that I wouldn't feel up to posting something gigantic. And I'm not. We had another softball game this afternoon, and even though I played for about...3½ minutes, I'm still wiped from having to spend the entire game on my feet (and add that up to my day and school, and it's cause for exhaustion). My 3½ minutes in the spotlight was when my coach decided that we were losing bad enough (We lost 17-10 or something like that) that it wouldn't do any harm to put the Junior Varsity Princess (aka moi, if you're that thick) into the game. The batter's box, to be precise. I guess I wasn't good enough to defend the field. :( Whatever. So, I must've been a lot more nervous than I thought I was, because everyone kept telling me to relax. I didn't feel nervous, but when I struck out (I went down swingin', ya bastards!) and returned to the dugout, I realized that my hands were shaking. Well, here are the pictures.....

Go on and lose it

"Everybody makes mistakes/Everybody has those days..." -Hannah Montana Yeah Miss Montana? Well, I doubt you've had the day I've had. Enter: Wake up at 6:00 in the morning on a Saturday. Get in the shower, dress, and eat breakfast. Wonder why I'm up so early? I have a Youth and Government shindig. I get ready to go, and then wake my dad up at 7:30 and tell him we should go soon. I have to be there by 9 am, and it's about a half-hour away. That translates to an hour or so with me driving (still on my permit, so Dad has to come) and the fact that we don't exactly know where the Anita Tuvin Schlecter building is. I drove fine on the way there, no one died. =) We get there, and we were kind of lost--but that wasn't that big of deal. We were still early and we found the place all right. I also found my friend from Y&G who had told me what was going on today. We stood outside the ATS building...and it was locked. There wasn't a soul in sight. Me: ...
