Not embracing the day

Wow.

I'm exhausted. I had softball practice AND Youth and Government today, couple that with school and it's almost a death sentence. It's funny. I saw myself posting this elaborate and in-depth post explaining my feeling this way, but all I see is whining coming out from underneath these keys.

I wore my new shoes to school today. I got a lot of compliments about them. They did give me blisters, though. But it's all right. They'll go away.

I work in the library at my school, so I'm constantly given something to do, as if I might die without a purpose. I put away books, switch out magazines, check in and out things for other students. Normally it's not so bad. But today I was given the task of sharpening pencils. Seriously. I mean--it's like...COME ON!! Sharpening pencils. Gawwwd.

After that, I almost had a giggle fit in French class. I got partnered up with this one freshman who's so out of this world...no, honestly. I'm not trying to say he's cool, I'm trying to say he's highly distracted. So it makes for an interesting period, really. Now that I look back on it though, I'm an idiot, laughing that much. Nothing was funny, at all. Not even "Je ne veux pas bavarder avec toi aujourd'hi!" Which, for all of you non-french speakers, means "I don't want to chat with you today."

The rest of the day, I felt like I kept talking to myself. Everything was moving in slooow motion, because it's the first hot day since...last summer. Shorts were everywhere, jackets were impractical. The humidity was probably 100%, making softball and Youth & Government a severe pain in the ass.

That's not the only reason why they sucked though. I couldn't focus in either thing, so I ended up just slugging through them. I whine and whine about being tired, but it seems like I'm not going anywhere. I haven't done anything to make me very sleepy. It's not something you think about while you listen to kids drone on and on about 'speakers yielding their time' or 'pro and con speeches.' But it's there. You know what I mean?

I don't even know what I mean. All I know is that there is a nice cool shower waiting for me upstairs, and then a slightly uncomfortable (yet cozy) bed after that.

Adieu.

Kick some serious ass, and don't forget to take names

Holy shiza. I can't believe we did that. I won't keep you in suspense...but today...(Dramatic pause)...I quit fastpitch softball. I'll start at the beginning. Yesterday we had our first official slowpitch game (aka for my father's team). I went, because honestly--how can you not go to your own father's game? Not to mention, the fastpitch game was a make-up that we didn't know about until last week. So we--my older sister Devyn, a friend of mine named Ashley--went to our slowpitch game. After all, my dad needed us and we would've had to forfeit if we didn't have enough girls to play. So we sort of ditched the fastpitch game. But it was NBD, seriously. Ashley NEVER plays in a fastpitch game. She sits the bench EVERY game, yet shows up for every practice, all the time. So naturally she's going to go to the game where she gets a chance to play, and not to mention she's good at it. My sister, on the other hand, is a senior. She's paid her dues. S...

Just another Monday

I took some pictures today, figuring I knew that I wouldn't feel up to posting something gigantic. And I'm not. We had another softball game this afternoon, and even though I played for about...3½ minutes, I'm still wiped from having to spend the entire game on my feet (and add that up to my day and school, and it's cause for exhaustion). My 3½ minutes in the spotlight was when my coach decided that we were losing bad enough (We lost 17-10 or something like that) that it wouldn't do any harm to put the Junior Varsity Princess (aka moi, if you're that thick) into the game. The batter's box, to be precise. I guess I wasn't good enough to defend the field. :( Whatever. So, I must've been a lot more nervous than I thought I was, because everyone kept telling me to relax. I didn't feel nervous, but when I struck out (I went down swingin', ya bastards!) and returned to the dugout, I realized that my hands were shaking. Well, here are the pictures.....

Go on and lose it

"Everybody makes mistakes/Everybody has those days..." -Hannah Montana Yeah Miss Montana? Well, I doubt you've had the day I've had. Enter: Wake up at 6:00 in the morning on a Saturday. Get in the shower, dress, and eat breakfast. Wonder why I'm up so early? I have a Youth and Government shindig. I get ready to go, and then wake my dad up at 7:30 and tell him we should go soon. I have to be there by 9 am, and it's about a half-hour away. That translates to an hour or so with me driving (still on my permit, so Dad has to come) and the fact that we don't exactly know where the Anita Tuvin Schlecter building is. I drove fine on the way there, no one died. =) We get there, and we were kind of lost--but that wasn't that big of deal. We were still early and we found the place all right. I also found my friend from Y&G who had told me what was going on today. We stood outside the ATS building...and it was locked. There wasn't a soul in sight. Me: ...
