Snow books

Another unproductive day...

Well, not really. We were pretty much snowed in--sort of. It's just with the recent accumulation of A FOOT of snow, we're not planning on going anywhere. Not to mention, we're spending time with mom (somewhat) before she gets her surgery on Monday. Nothing major, but she's going to be out of commission for the next couple weeks. Which translates to, "She's going to be bossing the hell out of us for 3 weeks straight." By week two, I'm going to be jonesing to get the hell out of here. That is, if I even MAKE IT to week 2. But more on that...never.

I got through the Johnny Hazzard novel today. I really didn't like it. To be honest, I think it was more of a book for guys. I didn't get much out of it. The plotline had a lot of potential, but was quickly squandered by the graphic and racy sex scenes. No, I'm not saying this to be a prude, it's just that the novel then transitioned into an "I hate War" and "Michael Moore rocks" riff that lasted about a million pages. You totally forgot about the girlfriend and the love (aka sex) they shared. Maybe that was the whole point, but did I mention the entire thing was in third person? Yeah, not good for coolness points. So if I was rating this book on a scale of 1 to 5, five being 'life-changing' and one being 'waste of time,' I would probably give it a 1.5. Yeah, it was that bad.

Random bit of information for today? My older sister is afraid of dwarves. Not really terrified or anything, but irked by their...shortness. Sorry dwarves.

Oww. I had an orthodontist appointment on Thursday, and my mouth still hurts.

Well, I'm off to explore new worlds...in my books, that is.

Oh man is this going to sound terrible, but I'm weirded out by little people as well. For instance? That Charla chick on the Amazing Race really irritates me. I think she's just so over-the-top because of her height and it really comes off in a bad way.

I have to take a nap now. It's perfect napping conditions. Light breeze, sunny, cool and comfy bed awaiting, Benadryl kicking in... Zzz...

Kick some serious ass, and don't forget to take names

Holy shiza. I can't believe we did that. I won't keep you in suspense...but today...(Dramatic pause)...I quit fastpitch softball. I'll start at the beginning. Yesterday we had our first official slowpitch game (aka for my father's team). I went, because honestly--how can you not go to your own father's game? Not to mention, the fastpitch game was a make-up that we didn't know about until last week. So we--my older sister Devyn, a friend of mine named Ashley--went to our slowpitch game. After all, my dad needed us and we would've had to forfeit if we didn't have enough girls to play. So we sort of ditched the fastpitch game. But it was NBD, seriously. Ashley NEVER plays in a fastpitch game. She sits the bench EVERY game, yet shows up for every practice, all the time. So naturally she's going to go to the game where she gets a chance to play, and not to mention she's good at it. My sister, on the other hand, is a senior. She's paid her dues. S...

Just another Monday

I took some pictures today, figuring I knew that I wouldn't feel up to posting something gigantic. And I'm not. We had another softball game this afternoon, and even though I played for about...3½ minutes, I'm still wiped from having to spend the entire game on my feet (and add that up to my day and school, and it's cause for exhaustion). My 3½ minutes in the spotlight was when my coach decided that we were losing bad enough (We lost 17-10 or something like that) that it wouldn't do any harm to put the Junior Varsity Princess (aka moi, if you're that thick) into the game. The batter's box, to be precise. I guess I wasn't good enough to defend the field. :( Whatever. So, I must've been a lot more nervous than I thought I was, because everyone kept telling me to relax. I didn't feel nervous, but when I struck out (I went down swingin', ya bastards!) and returned to the dugout, I realized that my hands were shaking. Well, here are the pictures.....

Go on and lose it

"Everybody makes mistakes/Everybody has those days..." -Hannah Montana Yeah Miss Montana? Well, I doubt you've had the day I've had. Enter: Wake up at 6:00 in the morning on a Saturday. Get in the shower, dress, and eat breakfast. Wonder why I'm up so early? I have a Youth and Government shindig. I get ready to go, and then wake my dad up at 7:30 and tell him we should go soon. I have to be there by 9 am, and it's about a half-hour away. That translates to an hour or so with me driving (still on my permit, so Dad has to come) and the fact that we don't exactly know where the Anita Tuvin Schlecter building is. I drove fine on the way there, no one died. =) We get there, and we were kind of lost--but that wasn't that big of deal. We were still early and we found the place all right. I also found my friend from Y&G who had told me what was going on today. We stood outside the ATS building...and it was locked. There wasn't a soul in sight. Me: ...
