everyone who's anyone is having babies

So, I just saw video footage of M.I.A. (my favorite rapper, yeah) at this year's Grammys...and holy crap. Very, very pregnant. Nine months. But you have to hand it to her, she freakin' kicked ass. She's still breaking into an industry that favors guys. So she kind of shot it all to hell by coming out and rapping with the rest of them...about to pop out a child. I mean, I kind of really...admire her for that. Huzzah to her.

Wow, did I really just say "huzzah"? Holy god, I'm a nerd.

So today I stayed home from school because I was sick. I still am feeling a bit under the weather, but mostly because my muscles are still ACHING. Never stop working out after a pretty intense field hockey season...I felt as if I haven't used my muscles in YEARS. I can't even sit down without wincing...and I've kind of developed this sort of WADDLE like pregnant women (I dunno what's with the pregnancy references today, honestly!). All in all, I look like I got the shit kicked out of me, and it feels like I have. Stupid fitness coach at school...he should know that our softball team is probably the most unfit in the state...half the girls (not me) carry inhalers.

On the plus side, I may have also acquired some of these aches from yoga in gym class...it makes me feel SO relaxed, but...again, I can hardly walk after what our teacher calls the "Daily Dozen." Monstrous.

So this weekend is Valentine's Day. Ugh. I've never been so NOT looking forward to something in a while. That's all I need, more chocolate...
No, the highlight of my V-Day is going to be staying at home and watching A Walk To Remember on ABC family. See, I can be romantic without getting delusional. Who needs Hallmark ANYWAYS?

Well, I gotta go. I may have slept the day away, but I'm still mucho exhausted. My uncomfortable bed awaits...

Kick some serious ass, and don't forget to take names

Holy shiza. I can't believe we did that. I won't keep you in suspense...but today...(Dramatic pause)...I quit fastpitch softball. I'll start at the beginning. Yesterday we had our first official slowpitch game (aka for my father's team). I went, because honestly--how can you not go to your own father's game? Not to mention, the fastpitch game was a make-up that we didn't know about until last week. So we--my older sister Devyn, a friend of mine named Ashley--went to our slowpitch game. After all, my dad needed us and we would've had to forfeit if we didn't have enough girls to play. So we sort of ditched the fastpitch game. But it was NBD, seriously. Ashley NEVER plays in a fastpitch game. She sits the bench EVERY game, yet shows up for every practice, all the time. So naturally she's going to go to the game where she gets a chance to play, and not to mention she's good at it. My sister, on the other hand, is a senior. She's paid her dues. S...

Just another Monday

I took some pictures today, figuring I knew that I wouldn't feel up to posting something gigantic. And I'm not. We had another softball game this afternoon, and even though I played for about...3½ minutes, I'm still wiped from having to spend the entire game on my feet (and add that up to my day and school, and it's cause for exhaustion). My 3½ minutes in the spotlight was when my coach decided that we were losing bad enough (We lost 17-10 or something like that) that it wouldn't do any harm to put the Junior Varsity Princess (aka moi, if you're that thick) into the game. The batter's box, to be precise. I guess I wasn't good enough to defend the field. :( Whatever. So, I must've been a lot more nervous than I thought I was, because everyone kept telling me to relax. I didn't feel nervous, but when I struck out (I went down swingin', ya bastards!) and returned to the dugout, I realized that my hands were shaking. Well, here are the pictures.....

Go on and lose it

"Everybody makes mistakes/Everybody has those days..." -Hannah Montana Yeah Miss Montana? Well, I doubt you've had the day I've had. Enter: Wake up at 6:00 in the morning on a Saturday. Get in the shower, dress, and eat breakfast. Wonder why I'm up so early? I have a Youth and Government shindig. I get ready to go, and then wake my dad up at 7:30 and tell him we should go soon. I have to be there by 9 am, and it's about a half-hour away. That translates to an hour or so with me driving (still on my permit, so Dad has to come) and the fact that we don't exactly know where the Anita Tuvin Schlecter building is. I drove fine on the way there, no one died. =) We get there, and we were kind of lost--but that wasn't that big of deal. We were still early and we found the place all right. I also found my friend from Y&G who had told me what was going on today. We stood outside the ATS building...and it was locked. There wasn't a soul in sight. Me: ...
