Flirting with Disaster

Yeah, I've been pretty much poking fun at The Big Guy lately, I'll admit. Whoever's in charge up there must not be watching me very well. By my last...disastrous post, you'll know that I'm on the express line to Hell at this point. I'm a rebel. =)

Today I played bumper cars with my Volvo, Viv. I just didn't stop in time...and CRASH. No harm done, only a few scratches. When you're actually in the car and you SLAM forward and it feels like you're seriously playing bumper cars, then it seems dramatic. And it REALLY, REALLY sucks when ALL your friends drive past you. OHHHHHHMYGOD it sucks so bad. But I'm fine. And my dad wasn't very angry, because I was freaking upset and bawling and shaken up. My poor Viv. I feel bad for her the most, I'm such a bad mommy. (For those of you that don't follow, Viv is my car. My car is my baby.)

That among other things, and today was kind of a shitty day. Shit, fuck damnit GAHHHH! Ugh.

And lately I've been just tempting the Fates to kill me...we just had a Nor'easter complete with ice, snow, and wind--and I wore my coat about...once. I keep going out in hoodies and t-shirts because I really can't wait for spring to get here. I feel like I need to put away my coat, break out the tank-tops...I dunno. But I DO know that if ANYONE (of Higher Power, that is) is paying ANY attention, I should have fucking pneumonia by now. I'm never this freakin' lucky. (In health, that is. Matters of driving is another story.)

Don't even talk to me about Valentine's Day. My dad sent me to the store to buy my mother's gifts. The only thing I GOT was a happy bunny card from my MOTHER that says:

Outside: 2 HOT 2B 4 GOT

Inside: & U R OK 2
Happy Valentine's Day. Love + Kisses, Mom & Dad XXOO

MY LIFE HAS REACHED THE EPITOME OF MEDIOCRITY!!

There are worse things to reach the epitome of, though, are there not? You could have reached the epitome of shittiness, for example. Or you could actually have gotten pneumonia.

My friend asked me if I had a happy singleness awareness day. Apparently, that's what the kids call it today.

Tell Viv I hope her a swift recovery.

Lovin' the blog.
Keep at it! =)

YOUR 2008 NL EAST CHAMPIONS ARE...

Yaaaaayyy...my Phillies are the NL East champions once again! Last Year: This Year: w00t!

Just another Monday

I took some pictures today, figuring I knew that I wouldn't feel up to posting something gigantic. And I'm not. We had another softball game this afternoon, and even though I played for about...3½ minutes, I'm still wiped from having to spend the entire game on my feet (and add that up to my day and school, and it's cause for exhaustion). My 3½ minutes in the spotlight was when my coach decided that we were losing bad enough (We lost 17-10 or something like that) that it wouldn't do any harm to put the Junior Varsity Princess (aka moi, if you're that thick) into the game. The batter's box, to be precise. I guess I wasn't good enough to defend the field. :( Whatever. So, I must've been a lot more nervous than I thought I was, because everyone kept telling me to relax. I didn't feel nervous, but when I struck out (I went down swingin', ya bastards!) and returned to the dugout, I realized that my hands were shaking. Well, here are the pictures.....

A Lesson That Needed Re-Learned

Okay. So The Queen learned a very valuable lesson yesterday. You DON'T TALK TO STRANGERS. Obviously, everyone learns this lesson from the age of 5, when your father asks you, "What do you do if some strange man asks you to help him find his lost puppy?" And then, you so enthusiastically respond, "You kick him in his privates and say NOOOOOOOOOO!!" Well, at least that's how I learned. And so when a young woman (couldn't be any older than my older sister) came to my door yesterday and asked questions about when my mother would be home, questions about the other kids in the neighborhood...I did the completely WRONG thing to do. I answered her questions and thought nothing of it. I didn't think her out-of-state license plates were all that threatening. I didn't think that her black (with polka dots) galoshes (similar to these ) were all that threatening. I figured she was just another one of those annoying Youth For Christ advocates asking if I w...
