A mile a minute!

All right, so I am going to attempt a very long post because I've left everyone in the dark for much too long and it seems as if nothing interesting is going on in my life if you were watching it from the sidelines. Aww, look at me going all metaphorical on you! Haha.

Well, I know I just updated and said that I got a new cell phone--and I LOVE it--no lie, hands down, the gospel truth, that's all, FINITE INCANTATEM! I'll take it out at random times during the day and just revel in its sheer awesomeness. Whenever I get a new phone (And I'm on #3 now...that's if you're talking models. I'm on #4 in phones TOTAL.) I just go crazy with it. Okay, I'm done boring you to death with a double post. Let's move onto the new details, shall we?

Today I had a meeting with my Gifted teacher. She's more or less a guidance counselor for us former Gifted students of middle school. She makes sure we're doing amazing and offers us things that other students don't get to do--like contests and seminars and other things. Last year, I ran in fear of the Gifted teacher. Every time she would come looking for me, I'd hide. She was a real pain in the butt because my grades were never up to par and she always made sure to remind me AND my mother.
This year was slightly refreshing, however. I met with the teacher, still a bit apprehensive, but not as much as in the past. This year, I'm 2 percentage points away from Honor Roll for the first time since...7th grade? Something like that. My lowest grade is an 83% C in English, but that'll be easy to bring up if I just continue to do my homework (I missed an assignment or two so far, big whoop!). She didn't yell or lecture me like last year, only told me that she was impressed with my improvement and told me to keep it up. Which was good for me--I left the room feeling less emotionally drained that I had last year. Improvement!

Field Hockey season is winding down...and as soon as it is over, my surge of posts will be so immense, I don't know if you'll be able to handle me. =) We have a game tomorrow, and another on Thursday, Our last practice is on Friday and then we have one more game next Monday. I'm optimistic--I had a good season this year and I'm slightly pleased with myself--even though I was a JV starter. Oh well, it's too last to fuss about it now.

Besides being über-busy with school, I also have Youth and Government again every Wednesday. I've stepped it up a little this year--I'm actually taking my treasurer job seriously. Right now I'm on the website for selling subs and sandwiches, trying to figure out if we're going to order 400 of anything--crazy stuff. That, and I am trying to run for Editor-in-Chief of the Model Newspaper...BIG responsibility, let me tell ya. This Saturday I get to go to Dickinson College for Servant Leader Training...I haven't been an officer before, so I don't know exactly how exciting it's going to be--it could be a total drag.

Well, I have to scamper off and do homework (since I have so much of it) and work, work, work. I hope this update was sufficient enough to meet your needs. =)

See ya later!

Kick some serious ass, and don't forget to take names

Holy shiza. I can't believe we did that. I won't keep you in suspense...but today...(Dramatic pause)...I quit fastpitch softball. I'll start at the beginning. Yesterday we had our first official slowpitch game (aka for my father's team). I went, because honestly--how can you not go to your own father's game? Not to mention, the fastpitch game was a make-up that we didn't know about until last week. So we--my older sister Devyn, a friend of mine named Ashley--went to our slowpitch game. After all, my dad needed us and we would've had to forfeit if we didn't have enough girls to play. So we sort of ditched the fastpitch game. But it was NBD, seriously. Ashley NEVER plays in a fastpitch game. She sits the bench EVERY game, yet shows up for every practice, all the time. So naturally she's going to go to the game where she gets a chance to play, and not to mention she's good at it. My sister, on the other hand, is a senior. She's paid her dues. S...

Just another Monday

I took some pictures today, figuring I knew that I wouldn't feel up to posting something gigantic. And I'm not. We had another softball game this afternoon, and even though I played for about...3½ minutes, I'm still wiped from having to spend the entire game on my feet (and add that up to my day and school, and it's cause for exhaustion). My 3½ minutes in the spotlight was when my coach decided that we were losing bad enough (We lost 17-10 or something like that) that it wouldn't do any harm to put the Junior Varsity Princess (aka moi, if you're that thick) into the game. The batter's box, to be precise. I guess I wasn't good enough to defend the field. :( Whatever. So, I must've been a lot more nervous than I thought I was, because everyone kept telling me to relax. I didn't feel nervous, but when I struck out (I went down swingin', ya bastards!) and returned to the dugout, I realized that my hands were shaking. Well, here are the pictures.....

Go on and lose it

"Everybody makes mistakes/Everybody has those days..." -Hannah Montana Yeah Miss Montana? Well, I doubt you've had the day I've had. Enter: Wake up at 6:00 in the morning on a Saturday. Get in the shower, dress, and eat breakfast. Wonder why I'm up so early? I have a Youth and Government shindig. I get ready to go, and then wake my dad up at 7:30 and tell him we should go soon. I have to be there by 9 am, and it's about a half-hour away. That translates to an hour or so with me driving (still on my permit, so Dad has to come) and the fact that we don't exactly know where the Anita Tuvin Schlecter building is. I drove fine on the way there, no one died. =) We get there, and we were kind of lost--but that wasn't that big of deal. We were still early and we found the place all right. I also found my friend from Y&G who had told me what was going on today. We stood outside the ATS building...and it was locked. There wasn't a soul in sight. Me: ...
