Summer Correspondence: Just. Effin'. Peachy.

Dear Steph,

Well, I knew you were in NH and I didn't want to bother you, but I just got back from driving and almost hitting a deer again. So I'm a LEETLE stressed out right now.

That's not the big story though...it gets worse!

The big story is that Carlos went away to CONA and came back and the lucky bastard already has himself a girlfriend! I know, YAY!! But sort of. I dunno. I'm not jealous, but there's this sick feeling in the pit of my gut that's a mixture between being shanked and eating bad food. I dunno why I feel like this but I can't talk to Marz about it because she's got issues of her own and she'd just make fun of me anyways...but now Carlos is running for YOUTH GOVERNOR (which is a big deal) and it completely pisses me off because he should not be allowed to be this successful while I sit around without a job, without a boyfriend, and without a life. I don't want to vote for him at all, but my delegation would think I'm a traitor or something for not voting for someone from our own ESY. I'm still wondering if I made a mistake but I obviously can't do anything about that now, now can I?!?!?!

I'm sorry I'm such a shitty friend and going all postal on you, but I think I may just be venting...that is, unless you have some honest-to-God advice for me. If so, that'd be wonderful.

Your Best Best Best Friend Alexa

PS- I heard a The Police song today, I hope you have fun at the concert.

YOUR 2008 NL EAST CHAMPIONS ARE...

Yaaaaayyy...my Phillies are the NL East champions once again! Last Year: This Year: w00t!

Just another Monday

I took some pictures today, figuring I knew that I wouldn't feel up to posting something gigantic. And I'm not. We had another softball game this afternoon, and even though I played for about...3½ minutes, I'm still wiped from having to spend the entire game on my feet (and add that up to my day and school, and it's cause for exhaustion). My 3½ minutes in the spotlight was when my coach decided that we were losing bad enough (We lost 17-10 or something like that) that it wouldn't do any harm to put the Junior Varsity Princess (aka moi, if you're that thick) into the game. The batter's box, to be precise. I guess I wasn't good enough to defend the field. :( Whatever. So, I must've been a lot more nervous than I thought I was, because everyone kept telling me to relax. I didn't feel nervous, but when I struck out (I went down swingin', ya bastards!) and returned to the dugout, I realized that my hands were shaking. Well, here are the pictures.....

A Lesson That Needed Re-Learned

Okay. So The Queen learned a very valuable lesson yesterday. You DON'T TALK TO STRANGERS. Obviously, everyone learns this lesson from the age of 5, when your father asks you, "What do you do if some strange man asks you to help him find his lost puppy?" And then, you so enthusiastically respond, "You kick him in his privates and say NOOOOOOOOOO!!" Well, at least that's how I learned. And so when a young woman (couldn't be any older than my older sister) came to my door yesterday and asked questions about when my mother would be home, questions about the other kids in the neighborhood...I did the completely WRONG thing to do. I answered her questions and thought nothing of it. I didn't think her out-of-state license plates were all that threatening. I didn't think that her black (with polka dots) galoshes (similar to these ) were all that threatening. I figured she was just another one of those annoying Youth For Christ advocates asking if I w...
