Homecoming

Things I did this past weekend:
  • Went to a funeral in Philly
  • Went out to eat in a downpour
  • Volunteered at a "Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk"
  • Applied for three jobs (Tarjay, EatNPark, and Famous Footwear)
  • Went deer-spotting
  • Put music on my mp3 player/camera/cell phone
  • Lost my electricity for four hours on Sunday night
This upcoming week is my busiest yet this month. I have a new event to attend to every day of the week---not to mention homework. If I barely scrape by this week, enough to see the weekend (without suffering a total meltdown) then a lot will be accomplished.

Today was crazy hair day. I didn't participate. That kind of stuff isn't for me. Then I went to the Halloween parade in town. It was a complete waste of time, but I had to be there at first to volunteer, which the people in charge didn't even show up, so I ended killing a few hours that I needed for HW. =(

Tomorrow is crazy hat day, which I can do. I have a Cat in the Hat hat that I'm going to wear. This way, I don't have to mess with my hair---which is difficult to handle on a daily basis. I have a Link Crew meeting at 7 am, but I really don't have the energy to get to school before 7 am. It's nuts. They're just going to have to settle with me being fashionably late.

Wednesday is Sports jersey day---I don't really own any jerseys that aren't my own, so I might nab my sister's Brian Westbrook jersey. Just to play along. Then Wednesday night is the bonfire and tailgating, which I don't want to/can't do. It coincides with Youth and Government, which I never miss if I can't help it.

Thursday is Twin day. I currently don't have a twin, so I might just pass on this one. Thursday is also Trick or Treat Night, which I have to walk around with a flashlight and look for bad guys. It's called "Witch Watch" and we're working with the cops to keep people's houses from getting TPed and all that nonsense. Afterwards I'm going to my grandmother's house, where she serves the BEST Italian wedding soup and our whole family gets together, as always.

Friday is Blue/Gold Spirit day, and the night of the Homecoming Dance. I don't think I am going this year, and it will have been the first one I have not attended. I don't have a dress, a date, and personally I'm just not feeling up to it this year. Not to mention, my best friend from grade school is having a birthday-slumber party at a hotel...and I'm invited. Again, I've never missed one of her parties, so I might as well go to that.

Saturday is the big homecoming game, which I am going to miss. I have a Youth and Government thing---that thing I went to 3 weeks in advance? Yeah well, it's THIS Saturday---that's going to be all day.

Sunday = Relaxation. Hopefully.

*Clinks glasses*

Here's to praying that I make it through the week.

Kick some serious ass, and don't forget to take names

Holy shiza. I can't believe we did that. I won't keep you in suspense...but today...(Dramatic pause)...I quit fastpitch softball. I'll start at the beginning. Yesterday we had our first official slowpitch game (aka for my father's team). I went, because honestly--how can you not go to your own father's game? Not to mention, the fastpitch game was a make-up that we didn't know about until last week. So we--my older sister Devyn, a friend of mine named Ashley--went to our slowpitch game. After all, my dad needed us and we would've had to forfeit if we didn't have enough girls to play. So we sort of ditched the fastpitch game. But it was NBD, seriously. Ashley NEVER plays in a fastpitch game. She sits the bench EVERY game, yet shows up for every practice, all the time. So naturally she's going to go to the game where she gets a chance to play, and not to mention she's good at it. My sister, on the other hand, is a senior. She's paid her dues. S...

YOUR 2008 NL EAST CHAMPIONS ARE...

Yaaaaayyy...my Phillies are the NL East champions once again! Last Year: This Year: w00t!

Just another Monday

I took some pictures today, figuring I knew that I wouldn't feel up to posting something gigantic. And I'm not. We had another softball game this afternoon, and even though I played for about...3½ minutes, I'm still wiped from having to spend the entire game on my feet (and add that up to my day and school, and it's cause for exhaustion). My 3½ minutes in the spotlight was when my coach decided that we were losing bad enough (We lost 17-10 or something like that) that it wouldn't do any harm to put the Junior Varsity Princess (aka moi, if you're that thick) into the game. The batter's box, to be precise. I guess I wasn't good enough to defend the field. :( Whatever. So, I must've been a lot more nervous than I thought I was, because everyone kept telling me to relax. I didn't feel nervous, but when I struck out (I went down swingin', ya bastards!) and returned to the dugout, I realized that my hands were shaking. Well, here are the pictures.....
